Finally, investing in quality Adirondack chairs makes little sense if you don’t plan on caring for them because any outdoor furniture will become damaged given enough exposure to the elements, no matter what kind of wood they are made out of.  Fortunately, little effort is needed to keep your chair around for season after season.  To seal your chair from the elements, simply apply a coat of paint, stain, or even some polyurethane.  This will keep your Adirondack chair looking new for years to come and prevent water from damaging the wood (yes, given enough time, even cedar will rot!).  However, if you prefer the rustic look, then simply give the chair a thorough scrubbing at the beginning and end of every season to remove mold and mildew.
