Day 6 - July 3 - Naples drama - Pompeii - Sorrento & Capri

SORRENTO & CAPRI

From the port in Naples, we took a bus to the train station. We took the train to Pompeii. After the amazing tour there, we took the train to Sorrento, a coastal resort town, to board the jotfoil to the island of Capri. As usual, we wished we could spend a lot more time in Sorrento, but once we got to Capri, we were glad we didn't miss it.

Here is my photo overview of Sorrento, a quaint little resort town on the coast of Italy. I captured this photo using my newly invented "free postcard system." It goes like this: As we are walking around, trying to get best the pictures of the town for the web site, I often see postcards that have already captured great pictures. I used to think I should try to get the same photo, but often the vantage points are impossible to get to. Or the weather is different, etc. I considered just buying great posctards -- but there is no scanner on the ship.

So I invented the "free postcard system" whichis illustrated with the following example: See this "postcard photo":

Here is how it is made: Jen holds the chosen postard and I take the picture!

Here is the restaurant where we had lunch while waiting for the jetfoil to Capri. They had a great seafood buffet, but the restaurateur chose the fish for us. We each enjoyed the "mixed fish" lunch.

Scooters are very big in Italy. Practically everyone rides them. If we would have had more time we would have rented them and cruised around Sorrento. But all the shops were closed for the afternoon break anyway and we had to get to Capri.
